Dear Blog

Life, family and other stuff

About me

I am a software developer with a growing family, and I also happen to enjoy the odd computer game or three.

I am firmly of the opinion that you are only as old as you feel, which means I am, at various times, twelve, eighteen, twenty seven and forty one. One of those is my actual age but is, in fact, the least used. No prizes for guessing which one.

As is appropriate to someone who lives well below his actual years, I’ve been a late starter in most things and that includes getting married and starting a family. I have an amazing wife who puts up with me, an incredibly intelligent and active young daughter and an incredibly intelligent but not so active son.

My son has been diagnosed with ASD which means he is a late developer and does not like changes in his organised little world, but is very affectionate to me, his mum and worships his big sister. His sister is a true star who loves her brother very much and is incredibly understanding of his difficulties, not that they don’t have their little disagreements as all brothers and sisters do.

At work, I support and develop using Microsoft technologies and have recently been learning about SharePoint administration and development. As much as I am a true geek who would happily continue “working” at home, I’m often too exhausted and so will often simply play computer games and watch TV.

There is no theme to this blog, I will just write about topics that interest me at the time which generally be one of the above subjects, so don’t expect biting political comment.
